10th anniversary of Pereshchepyn vocational lyceum

In 1999, a new agricultural vocational school was inaugurated in Pereshchepyn, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Since the very first years the school enjoyed the atmosphere of mutual understanding, creativity, and professionalism. The ten years have been marked with a constant search for new forms of activities, supported by the cooperation with local government, employers, other schools, as well as students, parents, and NGOs. The school upgraded its status to a lyceum in recognition of its efforts in organizing focused vocational training for senior school students. Annually, the lyceum offers pre-vocational training in 5 trade occupations to over 200 school students. Over these 10 years the lyceum has been under the management of Olena O. Vailo, a methodologist, prize-winner of the regional pedagogical competition, a leader with new approaches to learning, training, and the development of young personalities.

Today, Pereshchepyn vocational lyceum employs 74 instructors and is home to 397 students. Over the past 10 years, more than a thousand specialists were trained. 147 of them received an honours diploma; 5 received a ‘golden medal’ award for the excellence in studies; 153 continued their education at universities.
