In fulfilling its mandate, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine:

develops the state educational standards and controls their compliance through inspections, licensing, attestation, and accreditation of educational institutions according to the regulations established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;

determines the network of vocational schools; together with local department of education, offers informational, intermediary, and legal support for the employment of vocational schools graduates;

identifies and allocates government-supported seats in vocational, teacher-training, and research institutions
